Made in the Abruzzo Region

The history of our winery, began as far back as 1890, when our great-grandfather's family decided to establish a wine estate, on the beautiful hills of Teramo by planting the first vines.
He chose the site with foresight and wisdom, as he was experienced and perspicacious enough to recognize its great potential. The vineyard is located just 20 km away from the Gran Sasso (the highest mountain in the Apennines at 3000 m above sea level) and the imposing mountain peak forms an impressive background to the vines. The vineyard is also 12 miles from the Adriatic sea. This ideal position between the sea and the mountain provides the necessary variations in temperature, as well as the gentle breezes that create favorable air circulation, which helps the grapes to grow healthily. Even the soil has unique characteristics, thanks to its clay-limestone texture and the spring water which flows in abundance beneath the soil. Today San Lorenzo is the largest family-run winery in the province of Teramo, with 150 hectares in a single large plot that stretches over the crests of three hills. We chosen the most advanced production technologies like the usage of natural yeasts during the fermentation, the full temperature control during the whole vinification process, the usage of vacuum presses and cold-maceration. Our family-run winery, guarantees to our customers the full control of all production processes of our wines: from the cultivation of the vineyards to the wine enology aspects. Persistence, patience and dedication have been the roots of our success.

The Winery
San Lorenzo Winery, nestled in the heart of Montalcino, Tuscany, epitomizes the essence of Italian winemaking tradition. Renowned for its certified organic wines, including the prestigious Brunello di Montalcino DOCG and Rosso di Montalcino DOC, the estate blends timeless craftsmanship with innovative practices to create exceptional wines that reflect the unique terroir of the region
The winery's philosophy centers on producing high-quality, sustainable wines using 100% Sangiovese grapes. These vines thrive on the clay-rich soil and the cool microclimate of Montalcino, which lies at an altitude of over 500 meters. This distinct environment imparts a refined elegance to their wines, characterized by rich aromas, balanced tannins, and complex flavors

Aging is integral to San Lorenzo's craft. The Brunello di Montalcino matures in wooden casks for over two years before resting in bottles to achieve its full potential. The Rosso di Montalcino, sourced from younger vines, showcases a fresher and fruit-forward profile while maintaining structure and finesse. Both wines pair beautifully with traditional Tuscan dishes, from red meats to aged cheeses

Visitors to San Lorenzo can immerse themselves in the winery’s rich heritage through guided tours and tastings, discovering the art of winemaking amidst the picturesque vineyards of Montalcino. The estate’s dedication to sustainability and organic practices makes it a must-visit destination for wine enthusiasts who appreciate both tradition and environmental stewardship.
